Blu` Island Bistro in Venice

This place was so wonderful and delicious. They had a very cozy island atmosphere along with a very friendly and attentive staff. The portions were great for sharing and everything was cooked just right. The owner is also from Philly, so there are some nice familiar dishes like scrapple, pork roll and cheese steaks. Can’t wait to come back!

Extensive for breakfast .70 % higher. Food good but not worth the to charge. 2.25 for toast. Ouch

Best breakfast. We always go there for eggs benedict when we're in Venice. Everything looks good but I love the eggs benedict and can't get past it to try other entrees. Highly recommended!

It's great. Haven't found much good food in Florida. This place is excellent food, excellent ambience and excellent service. I don't mind paying for food if it is good and this certainly is. What I don't like is paying $30 for a meal I could do better. I wish this chef much success and will spend many more enjoyable upcoming meals at this establishment. Don't tell anybody or I won't be able to get a table.

Gumbo was delicious. Grouper sandwich was ok, nothing special. No special sauce or toppings to augment the taste as similar restaurants do. We did have excellent service.

First time trying this restaurant. There was a little wait, but the waiting area came with comfy seats and snacks!

Good food and great service! The restaurant is very busy during Sunday morning brunch. Everything I've ever tried has been good.6/14/18 update: I just had the Alligator sausage omelette, and had to upgrade my previous rating. The sauteed onions were perfection. There was zero waiting today, I only wish they weren't so busy during the snow season.

Fantastic restaurant. I had the meat lover omelette and the eggs were cooked perfectly. They also offered a Hellacious Sauce and it was amazing. It had a nice kick and a perfect amount of tangy. We had an interesting situation with customers over crowding out table but the people at the restaurant handled it very well. This place is awesome and the food is even more awesome!

Delicious food! If you’re wanting a hipster breakfast place that has really good food, go to blu island bistro. I was satisfied and happy! I took my friends grandparents who have lived in Venice for a few years that we were staying with on vacation. They thanked me several times for introducing them to a new place they’d never been that was so good. They definitely were happy to find this place and so was my stomach!

Such a gem. Love this place. A yearly Mecca for us. Service and food are always amazing. Tried the smoked salmon Benedict’s...loved it! Fruit is always fresh, ripe and amazing.

Had breakfast at the Blu island bistro, food was amazing and service by Cynthia! She made it feel like we weren't having to dine take out. Everything was clean and comfortable, I highly recommend.

Stopped here for lunch after a beautiful morning at the beach because it looked like a decent nearby place to bring the grandchildren. We weren't expecting anything special, so we wore taken aback by the unique ambience, the friendly wait staff, and the delicious food. Everything was fresh and tasty. Even the chicken nuggets that my grandson ordered were homemade and out of this world scrumptious. Whatever you do, get the bacon, it is to die for good, so good we ordered another serving. We will be back soon. One amazing little detail, they gave my grandsons little containers of play-do, which was a first for all and the boys loved it.

We head to Blu just about every Sunday for breakfast. The app works great and service is always friendly. Kim greets everyone with a smile and the entire staff, especially Katrina and Ann Marie, are awesome! We like to check out the unique specials they come up with each week, but definitely have our tried-and-true favorites. It’s the best breakfast around…consistently delicious. Highly recommend!

Great service and the best coffee in Venice. Ask for Christina, Katrina, or Trevor. They will take good care of you. Tell them OhioKen sent you. The frittatas are excellent but I would avoid the biscuits and gravy. Great pancakes-very light and fluffy.

What a fabulous breakfast spot! I had an absolutely delicious breakfast here and it's so cute inside-highly recommend!

Never use Blu Island Bistro table up or check in online again. The hostess runs it like she wants. We arrived and checked in with her, party of three. She said it would be another 15 to 20 minutes after we already waited 45 minutes with the online check in prior to our arrival. When asked why we had been waiting for 30 minutes and two other parties of four that just walked up and asked how long the wait would be were seated before us. She said she would not seat us because we complained. I think the owner should know how she is favoring people she likes over others she seems to have a prejudice towards. We have come to this place for years and she always treats us as if she has never seen us before. If you have had this experience you should let the owner know. Otherwise she will continue her prejudice.

As I walk through a restaurant I will glance at what other people are eating. This place people were eating a great variety of different dishes. I ordered the special for the day and it was fantastic. So I give it five stars

I did it! I finally tried the Cuban and it was AMAZING, just the ticket to take me home for a minute with an authentic taste with a zing to it. From using amazing meat cut to switching it to spicy mayo instead of the normal Mayo, this bold take will have you coming back for more!

I had the French toast. It was amazing. Came with fresh fruit. Even though every thing was takeout, my server Cynthia was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place to eat.

Been by a couple times, whiskey bacon is what keeps me coming back. The atmosphere is quiet and modest, the service is always friendly. If your looking for good ol mom and pop stop in.

Great food and service in a quaint setting. Unique combinations such as my sandwich a Fried Egg BLT sandwich with pecan bacon and a fried green tomato. Sunday's they serve home made doughnuts with fresh strawberries that I heard many tables ordering before their breakfast. Highly recommend, delicious food and no wait. Outside tables as well.

Blu Island Bistro was a new find for us and I am so glad we chose it! The food was amazing and the service was great.

The eggs Benedict was phenomenal, the bananas Foster french toast was incredible, and the mimosas we're the perfect ratio of oj to bubbly!

Service and food great. Teeny tiny place, maybe 10 4-tops and 10 tables for 2. Coffee thick as mud, that be strong dark roast. Seriously heavy meals. Cajun shrimp grits, 2 die 4. But o could only eat 5 bites. Great bites and box 2 go

Everytime we come to town. We make sure to have brunch over here. The staff is super friendly and the waiting time is never really long. The food is excellent. Make sure to stop by if you are in venice.

This restaurant is unassuming from the outside but trust me, it’s REALLY good. Our server Mackenzie was sweet and accommodating. Everything we ate was delicious. We had 2 of their specials with our meals - the whisky maple bacon and churro ice cream bowl. Both were to die for! Their hand cut French fries really are the best. Highly recommend this place.

Really impressive. First time there today. Everything we had was excellent. Shrimp and Grits, Pork Chop Benedict, Blu Burrito, lemon blueberry ricotta pancake, whiskey bacon. Recommended. We will be back.Also, the homemade hot sauce is delicious. Wish there were bottles available for sale. Maybe when we're back again next time!

This was my second time coming and I was totally blown away. My hubs and I ordered the loaded bloody Marys and they did not disappoint--perfect amount of spice and great rim seasoning. We ordered the pancakes, a bacon omlette special, and the crab cake sandwhich. All were so good. Best pancakes that I have ever had! The coleslaw was to die for--may have also been the best as well. Everything was so lovely and cannot wait to return.

One of my all-time favorite breakfast spots anywhere! Very unique and eclectic menu. Fabulous take on all your classic favorites as well. They offer specials menu that always has unique and delicious offerings. Had the huevos rancheros special today and it was to die for. A big scoop of homemade guacamole on top of homemade tortillas, black refried beans, fried egg, homemade salsa, Mexican cheese, and sour cream. Have lots of delicious gluten-free options as well as traditional items. One of the best things on the menu is the blue Island bistro burrito. Something that they do is they offer a shared plates... You can get half of biscuits and gravy with half a blue island bistro burrito. Great for when you can't make up your mind!

Lovely friendly breakfast and lunch spot. Soup and sandwich today and hubby got breakfast burrito. Specialty iced teas, phenomenal baked goods. Truly delightful. Wish they were open for dinner!

My favorite place to get breakfast in Venice! I usually order the BLT, which is original and delicious. It has fried green tomatoes, a fried egg, and a flavorful garlic aioli, which takes it to another level. There is also bacon and arugula. I usually go on a weekday when it's not too crowded because it's probably a madhouse on the weekend. The server was very nice and I got my food in a timely manner, hot and fresh.

One of the best lunches I have had in a long time. The entire table of 4 was extremely happy with their meals. I had a cup of the gumbo which was delicious, it wasn't overly spicey and the seafood it it was cooked perfectly. I also has the cheese steak sandwich and the bread was toasted yet soft and the meat was well seasons and topped with yummy caramelized onions. I will definitely return here.

Blu island bistroI see a lot of empty plates, full coffee cups and people having a great morning.I love the warm friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. Nice area outside while waiting for your table. Don't be disappointed if you have to wait for a table for breakfast or lunch. You will be pleasantly surprised by the service and the food, both are top-notch and worth the wait. You must try the whiskey bacon it is to die for.

Great breakfast and lunch restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The four of us went for lunch and everyone loved their elections. Highlights included a BLT with fried green tomatoes and an a fried egg, a grouper sandwich that was excellent and large, the blueberry pancake was just terrific and the red clam chowder was very hardy. Friendly service very casual atmosphere. Wish I lived closer.

Went for the first time and went for breakfast. I had the eggs Benedict with brisket and my friend had the house made hash. Both were very good. Our server Cynthia, was friendly, attentive and efficient. Depending on where you sit, it can be noisy. We asked to be moved. Based on the breakfast, hope to try it out for other meals too.
